The observation of nature and the perishable nature of things is at the heart of Daria Krotova's work. Her interventions fix the transitory states of objects, as metaphors for our lives.
If imitation of nature plays a part in this approach to art, it is to confront better living matter and the degradation of natural elements caused by time.
Between organic forms, mundane objects, and quotations from Italian painting, the artist acts in the manner of a lead, bringing together an element from one culture with another.
