Anton Totibadze was born in Moscow in 1993 in a family of artists. His father Konstantin Totibadze and uncle Georgy Totibadze are both painters. Lives and works in Moscow.

About:

Anton Totibadze’s laconic still-lives and landscapes are visually astonishing, with multiple layers of paint used to capture associations, allusions, humor and a narrative. His objects are incredibly lifelike as we see characters in their own stories, and at the same time cues of what just happened or is about to happen: celebrations, failed dates, memories, mysteries, dramas and comedy of everyday life.

Based on the artist’s own feelings, his work is most certainly direct and rather precise, in keeping with his own style of depiction: documentation of the everyday life within a contemporary world at every given moment, with its mysteries and wonders, sentiment and mischief.

Totibadze comes from a family of painters stretching several generations, thus exposing him to multiple genres and styles of painting during his development as an artist. This informed his own distinct quirky and acutely contemporary style that has quickly earned him recognition.
